Accessories and Field Shingles
OSC crews will begin to lay field shingles on the eave edges of the roof, using 4 nails for every 3-tab shingle and 5 nails for every architectural or laminate shingle. Which ever style is chosen for your home, you need to make sure the crews are adequately securing them to the roof decking. Shingles that are not secured properly could void any manufacturers warranty. Any accessories that are incorporated into your roof need to be installed and sealed properly, and OSC scimps on NO material whatsoever. All vents, flashings, plumbing stacks(boot jacks), skylights and even satellite dishes need to caulked since nails or bolts are used to secure these items.
